CMA CGM's Second Container Platform in Senegal

After more than 8 years of presence in Senegal through its subsidiary Delmas, the CMA CGM Group is pleased to announce the launch of a second container platform in Dakar, the TCD2, on Thursday, the 13th of February, thus comforting its import/export leading position in the country.

This second platform managed and operated by CMA CGM in Dakar allows enhancing the Terminal Conteneurs Dakar TCD1 capacity, operated by the Group since February 2011, and offering new logistical services to the Group’s clients.

The TCD1 and TCD2 platforms will regroup full and empty bonded container storage activities, local deliveries (10 tractors and 30 own operated trailers), stuffing and unstuffing, transit, railway and road transport, notably to Mali, as well as a 64 plugs reefer zone.

Ideally situated closely to the main road and railway routes, both platforms offer a fast connection to CMA CGM multimodal transport network. Surrounding walls and 24/7 surveillance offer cargo safety at all times.

By providing an integrated offer, including door to door transport organization, transit and services such as stuffing and stripping as well as reefer plugging, the CMA CGM Group intends to facilitate its clients’ commercial activities in Senegal and reinforce its leading position in this strong growing market.

With a strategically located office in Senegal, 3 weekly services connecting Dakar directly to the main European ports and to the Tangier hub, the exclusive operation of TCD1 in Dakar, and the opening of this new platform, CMA CGM confirms its leading position on the Senegalese market regarding volumes, services and innovations, and encourages the development of commercial activities and the creation of new businesses in this great potential market.

•         Overall surface : 12 000 m2  (TCD1), 15 000 m2 (TCD2) 
•         Full/empty storage capacity : approximately 1000 TEU
•         64 Reefer plugs

•         Bascule bridge for containers weighing
