MV SININ Released by Somali Pirates After Being Held Since February
MV SININ, a 52 thousand ton Malta flagged and owned Bulk Carrier, which was hijacked by Somali pirates on February 12, 2011, has been released today, i.e. on August 13, 2011. Total crew of 21 persons, including 9 Indians are reported safe.
The ship owners have provided for replenishment of stores/fuel and security for the vessel to reach Colombo by about 19th August 2011, where the vessel is likely to be dry docked for extensive inspection.

The ship was attacked by Somali pirates 315 nautical miles off Masirah (Oman) when she was on a journey to Singapore from Fujairah (UAE).
