Wartsila Companies in Norway Will be Integrated into One Company

The Board of Directors in the three Wärtsilä companies in Norway; Wärtsilä Norway, Wärtsilä Propulsion Norway and Wärtsilä Automation Norway have decided to start the process to merge the above mentioned companies into Wärtsilä Norway. The goal is to merge the three companies on 1 January 2007.

Mr. Arne Birkeland will be the President of the new Wärtsilä Norway from 1 January 2007. Mr Birkeland, age 40, holds currently the position of President of Wärtsilä Automation Norway.

Mr Martin Solnes, the President in Wärtsilä Norway since 1996, turned 60 earlier this year, and will continue as Head of Wärtsilä Services in Norway.

The organizational structure of the new company will be settled during the autumn.
