Salt Ship Design To Design New 'Voyager'

Voyager Fishing Company Ltd i Kilkeel, Northern Irland, has ordered a new trawler / purse seiner based on a design from Salt Ship Design. The new fishing vessel will be built at Karstensens Skipsværft AS in Skagen, Denmark.

The 86,4 metres fishing vessel  has a beam of 17,8 metres., and will be delivered from the shipyard in August 2017. Salt Ship Design will deliver a complete design and engineering package for the new fishing vessel.

Voyager Fishing Company has been working closely with Salt for more than six months to develop a vessel tailored for their quotas and the areas where the vessel will operate. This has resulted in a very effective and modern fishing vessel with a loading capacity of more than 3200 cum.

Since the start of Salt in 2012, most of the projects have been within the offshore segment. This contract represents an important milestone for Salt, and we are very pleased to enter the fishery segment. Unlike the current offshore market, fisheries and fish farming are doing very well and these segments represent an increasingly important market for Salt
