[Brief] On Sunday night, the U.S. Coast Guard evacuated two stabbing victims from the commercial fishing vessel Billy B off the coast of Alabama.

The Billy B was operating about 35 nm south of Orange Beach, Alabama when two of her crewmembers were allegedly attacked by a third crewmate. Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a distress call and dispatched the coastal patrol cutter Kingfisher, a rescue boat and an MH-65 helicopter to respond.

The Kingfisher arrived at the scene at 2045 hours and brought the victims on board. The helicopter aircrew then medevaced them from the cutter's deck and took them to a hospital in Pensacola, Florida. One man was listed in critical condition on arrival.

The response boat crew boarded the Billy B and arrested one man. The boat then took the fishing vessel in tow and returned to Perdido Pass, Alabama, escorted by the Kingfisher. The USCG has not released the identities of the individuals involved, and the incident is under investigation.
