Crane Collapses in Ho Chi Minh Port

A dock worker has died after a gantry crane collapsed on to a container ship during unloading operations at Ta Thuan port in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. 

Others have been trapped in the accident, and rescue teams are working to free them. The number of fatalities and injuries has yet to be confirmed.

The crane may have been overloaded, and local authorities are investigating.

The vessel, Fortune Navigator, has suffered a hull breach above the waterline. All on board are reported safe.

The vessel arrived in Ho Chi Minh from Hai Phong.
