Cruise Ship First for Sri Lanka

The luxury cruise liner MV Voyager called at Magam Ruhunupura Mahinda Rajapaksa Port in Sri Lanka on December 21, creating history as the first cruise vessel to call at the port.

The vessel arrived with 365 passengers and 224 crew and was under the command of Captain Neil Broomhall. At the port in Hambanthota, passengers visited the port and Hambanthota city during the vessel’s 11 hour stay.

The cruise liner was en route from Dubai, Oman, India and arrived in Sri Lanka where she first called the Passenger Terminal of Sri Lanka Ports Authority in Colombo for a two night stay from where it sailed to Hambanthota and then on to the east coast of India.

MV Voyager is equipped with entertainment facilities such as a night club, a  swimming pool, variation of restaurants, a gymnasium, bars, etc. All Leisure Group acts the cuisse ship operators whilst Ceyline shipping serves as the local agents.
