NTSB Marine Accident Investigation Course Still Has Openings
The National Transportation Safety Board's course, Marine Accident Investigation for Marine Professionals (MS 101), scheduled for January 26-30, 2009, at the NTSB Training Center in Ashburn, Virginia (near Washington, D.C.), still has openings for interested mid- to senior-level marine industry professionals.
The weeklong course covers the Safety Board's processes and procedures during a major marine accident; reviews human factors, medical factors, and electronic data elements in a marine investigation; offers best practices for comprehensive and thorough interviewing techniques; and shares report preparation processes and procedures. The course will be led by senior NTSB investigators who will use examples from recent NTSB investigations to demonstrate particular aspects of the investigative process. This is the first time the Safety Board has ever offered this course. A more complete description of the course, the registration process and the cost may be found at the NTSB Training
